Summer Highlights

Money in Politics
I spoke at and am seen here signing the scrolls to each of our US delegation from HB504 this past Monday, September 16. The  asking that US Congress address Money in Politics.  In addition to myself and Senator Levesque, others in attendance include activists who participated in a warrant article training I completed several years ago. It was a celebration of some forward movement on the bill that passed both Houses and was sponsored by Representative Ellen Read (Rockingham 17).

Legislative Service Requests for 2020

I am working on a few bills for next session…

  • Grid modernization next steps,

  • Music therapy licensure, and a

  • Study on attaining a Clean Electric Grid by 2030

 

How I spent my “summer vacation,”. Some of the events and activities included:

  • Attended the Annual ISO-NE RSP (Independent Systems Operators of New England - Regional Systems Plan) meeting in Boston, MA. (they “keep the lights on”). 

  • Science, Technology & Energy subcommittee work.

  • Assisted the Consumer Advocate at the Public Utilities Commission with making our statewide, online energy tool a reality (SB284).

  • Met with the SAU 19 Superintendent Brian Balke of New Boston schools.

  • Worked with Water Watchers of Pepperell, MA on stopping a planned Toxic Soil dump

  • Met with the Town Administrators of Hollis, New Boston, and Milford along with other town employees, regarding the vetoed budget. Attended Mont Vernon budget meeting.

  • Traveled to Portsmouth with HB High School students for the Youth Climate March.
